Many of you know about the Philippines Experience – The Basic Expat Training Manual but I suspect quite a few don’t really know what is in it. I thought it might just be time to explain it to ya.

The Basic Expat Training Manual is written by me, Rusty Ferguson. I started writing the Basic Expat Training Manual back in early 2010. That was two years after I began living in the Philippines. It took me nearly a year to release the first version. It wasn’t a voluminous document on its first release. I think it was about 40 pages.

Now its around 300 pages when you consider it comes in three volumes now. Two are named “Philippines Experience –The Basic Expat Training Manual.” The third is “How to Send Money to the Philippines” or HTSM. HTSM could have just as well been named “How to Get Your Money Once you are in the Philippines.” It serves both purposes. It is around 50 pages.

Who is the Manual for?

The Basic Expat Training Manual is written for the guy that is dreaming of coming to and living in the Philippines. That is still who it is primarily aimed at. However, I’ve had long term expats tell me that they learned a lot from the manual. I wish I had had it when I was planning to come. I made so many mistakes. I could have done so much better if I had known these things.

The Manual as I call it for short is itself over 250 pages . I’m working on an update now and I anticipate it will grow to close to 300 pages. It comes in two volumes. Right now the price for it is $37. Once I release the next update, I’m going to raise the price. Even though it now contains far more information than any other product in its class, it still carries a lower cost than many. The price may very well go to $57. That probably will make it the most expensive in its class. It has a lot more to offer though.

When this will happen, I don’t know. I thought it would have happened sometime last month. Due to all the server issues I’ve had, it is taking longer than I thought. It is going to happen.

Yes, you can find some better writers. One fellow has many books out. I’ve seen parts of them He’s a good writer.

However, he doesn’t live in the Philippines. There is a massive difference between living here and visiting here.

The Manual comes in two volumes. One is a general volume the second one I think of as Philippine Places but it covers more than that so far. I don’t fully know the direction it will take. The “Places” volume is what I have in mind but there is also a small section on common scams in the Philippines in Volume II.

To give you an idea of what The Basic Expat Training Manual covers, I am providing the table of contents as it appears in version seven of the document.

What Will the Basic Expat Training Manual Do for You?

The Basic Expat Training Manual will give you the information you need to get to the Philippines, do it faster and increase your chances of success. Perhaps more importantly, it will help you do it better than I did.

There are so many things I wish I would have done differently. I could have brought much more of my things here. Some of them would be very helpful to me.

I wouldn’t have gotten a visa I didn’t need. I wasted about $500 on that. It was a complete waste.

I wouldn’t have arrived expecting the worst. I wouldn’t have thought everyone was out to rip me off. I would have a much better understanding of Filipino culture and Filipino law.

The Basic Expat Training Manual includes the complete law on families. This covers annulment, adultery issues, property settlements, human trafficking issues, business issues and laws, property ownership and that’s just what I can think of off the top of my hat.

The Manual will reveal the information you need to live in the Philippines and how you can get it done faster.

Conclusion

If you are serious about living in the Philippines this manual will help you prepare, plan and arrive in the Philippines. If you want to visit the official website, you can do so by clicking here. If you are ready purchase The Basic Expat Training Manual without reading anything more use the button to grab it. You can download it any time, 24 hours a day. You don’t have to wait for me to email it to you. It is not available in hardcopy. I can do that for you but you’ll have to pay for the printing and the shipping. This will probably almost double your cost.
